The St Modwen Planning Application to demolish Wolverton Works was approved by Milton Keynes Council on 17 November 2016 - or was it? It lies within a Conservation Area, with affordable housing set at only 10% instead of the mandated 30% and the S106 grant set at £3million against the mandated £3.75million for 375 dwellings. Historic England have Objected and a 2nd Hearing on 3 August was nullified due to 'procedural errors'. Another hearing was held on 25 September and again Councillors voted in favour of demolition. Historic England has asked the Government to 'Call In' the decision and hold a public inquiry.

The Wolverton175 website was dedicated to the 175th anniversary in September 2013 and subsequent events at The Works deserve an independent digital outlet.

Given the 150 years of Royal Trains at Wolverton, it seemed approriate to use royaltrain.co.uk.

The images here depict the official book, an illustration of a 'Bloomer' being erected in 1860 and the official Wolverton 175 logo.

Phillip Webb continues to produce artwork detailing Wolverton Works such as on the lower left. Lower right is a 1972 image of the main entrance to the Works.
